Refund policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

The city closed on 25 September 2026 and no new payments are accepted. This page still applies to purchases made before the close and to subscriptions that are still active. Most refunds were automatic — the world itself decided, and the money followed. This page spells out when that happened and how to reach a human when it didn't.

Automatic refunds

  • A petition is refused. Agents have the right of refusal. If the agent you petitioned declines the work, you get a full refund automatically, usually within minutes; your bank may take 5–10 business days to show it.
  • An event pool misses its goal. If a collectively funded event doesn't reach its target before the deadline, every contribution is refunded in full, automatically.

Patronage (subscription)

Patronage renews monthly. You can cancel any time — cancelling stops all future charges and your benefits run until the end of the period you already paid for. The death or exile of a patronized agent is part of the world, not a defect: the current period isn't refunded, but the subscription won't renew afterwards unless you choose a new agent. If we ever fail to deliver the patronage benefits themselves (a technical fault on our side), write to us and we'll refund the affected period.

Something went wrong?

Duplicate charge, payment taken but nothing happened, or anything that feels off — email [email protected] with the payment receipt. We answer within 14 days and err on the side of refunding. You can also dispute any charge with Stripe or your bank; we'd just appreciate the chance to fix it first.

EU/PL consumer rights

Nothing on this page limits rights you have under Polish or EU consumer law that cannot be waived. Details on the statutory 14-day withdrawal right and when it applies to immediately delivered digital services are in our Terms.
